The residents have been moving in for a few months, now it was time for a Grand Opening Celebration. On the evening of August 21, residents and guests and also those of us in the Chamber of Commerce gathered for the event. We have watch this facility being constructed but had never been inside. It is very impressive. Like the brochure says - “A remarkable setting, a remarkable lifestyle”, Timber Ridge sets senior living apart from any other of its kind.

Afterward everyone celebrated with tasty tibits served in many locations.
Among the amenities Timber Ridge residents enjoy are a cocktail lounge, dining room, beauty shop, art studio, business center, fitness center, library, post office, small market and cafe. I enjoyed watching the comaraderie and friendship between them. Many of them volunteered to be at these different posts to show guests, like me, around and answer questions. All the residents I talked to, in particular the ones who signed up before it was built, expressed great satisfaction with their new living arrangements.
Shirley Jordan was one who showed me around the library. All the books are from the residents.

Talus, Issaquah’s neighborhood in the mountains.

Things are changing at Talus and will continue to do so, according to recent announcements. A 500,000 sq ft coporate center, Talus Corporate Center, is in the planning stages. TriMet Development LLC and Real Estate Capital LLC are partners in the project. It will be built on about 9 acres in Talus. This will be a boon to business in Talus and in Issaquah. With the vacancy rate in office space showing little available space, this should be a successful project. The project will begin in the spring.
A project well underway in Talus is Timber Ridge at Talus, a senior living community by LifeCare TM. It appears to be an extraordinary community. We have some friends who are moving to Timber Ridge. Their unit will be done around February. The brocheres and information Timber Ridge send out have drawings of the completed buildings and pictures of other ones they have built around the country. We were driving around Talus, a new award winning development in Issaquah. It was a very dark and stormy fall day and I wish our pictures were better, but they do give you a glimpse of the nature of this community. Nature is the very essence of Talus. Talus is perched on the foothills of Cougar Mountain overlooking awesome views of the Issaquah Alps.Talus has 630 acres of land but only about 1/4 of it is slated to be used for human habitation. The rest is set aside for the various wildlife and green trees, ferns, etc that reside here. There are trails and lookout points amid the area. Talus is just up the hill from the city of Issaquah for convenient access to all amenities. For more info click www.talusliving.com
