The Basics of Selling on eBay, Want a New Career?
I still have a few too many things from downsizing in 2006. I was reluctant to part with all my stuff. You never know when you might need that “thing” right? I noticed a class at the Issaquah Library that sounded interesting.
I got there early because the parking is limited and had to wait in the cold to get in. People gathered quickly, a lot of people, and when we did get in, it was obvious that many had a more intense interest in eBay than I did. There is more to being successful on eBay than you might think, even if you just want to sell a few items. The teacher of the class was an eBay Education Specialist and the author of quite a few books on the subject, Kevin W. Boyd. He passed out a workbook with easy to follow instructions, so you did not have to take notes, but he said, if you want to write in it and take it with you it would cost you $30.00. You can only buy this in the class. It is “The Basics of Selling on eBay”. The class covered how to register, the difference between a buyer account and a seller account. He discussed Selling fees and ways to save on them.
Tips and information on Pay Pal, which is totally ELECTRONIC now and being used for much more than eBay and is as safe as your online banking.
Research is a big component of success on eBay. You need to know how successful sellers price and present their goods and do as they do. The goal is to make a profit. Then there is shipping! And a whole lot of other things to do the right way.
I believe Kevin Boyd can do as he says, turn a your unprofitable “shipping hobby” into a rewarding business. The class was comprehensive and he is a very good teacher. It was NOT boring! But, this was more than I wanted to know. I don’t want to go there, but YOU might. Check out his website: www.trainingu4auctions.com.
Hmmmm, I wonder how much I could get for that air condtioner?
